Combined Bios: Born in San Francisco into a family of musicians, identical twins Eytan and Gabriel have been playing music together for as long as they can remember. Now based in New York City, E & G lead vibrant careers in jazz, R&B, rock, gospel, reggae and latin styles: They can be found regularly performing and touring at household & historic venues: Between the two of them, they have played CARNEGIE HALL, BLUE NOTE (NYC), THE MET MUSEUM, CHRIS' JAZZ CAFE, KEYSTONE CORNER, DC JAZZ FEST, SFJAZZ, DIZZY'S JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER, MONTEREY JAZZ FEST, KUUMBWA JAZZ FEST, KLAVIERHAUS, ZINC BAR, BLACK CAT, THE DJANGO, MINTON's PLAYHOUSE, ORNITHOLOGY, LIBRETTO and other top jazz venues around the world. Both also have extensive touring experience (they've hit Norway, Iceland, Bolivia, Portugal, and dozens of U.S. states). Eytan holds a Master's Degree at THE JUILLIARD SCHOOL of Music and a BA at OBERLIN College & Conservatory, and Gabriel obtained his Masters of Music at THE MANHATTAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC and his BA from BROWN UNIVERSITY. Combined, they’ve performed with jazz heavyweights Christopher McBride, Matthew Whitaker, Paquito D’Rivera, Sam Dillon, Lucas Pino, Akira Tana, Tim Green, Azure McCall, Mike King, Erena Terakubo, Mike Olmos, Tyreek Mcdole, Lawrence Fields, Wayne Escofferey and more.
When they're not performing together, they enjoy playing tennis, basketball, and scheming together.
Eytan Schillinger-Hyman is an accomplished bassist and composer based in New York City, renowned for his proficiency on both upright and electric bass. With a vibrant career that spans the jazz scenes of New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area, Eytan has performed at renowned venues and festivals including BlueNote NYC, Dizzy's Jazz at Lincoln Center, SFJAZZ, The Anthem DC (opening for Lalah Hathaway), Smalls, The Jazz Cruise, and The Monterey Jazz Festival, among many others. Eytan has performed with acclaimed musicians such as Quincy Phillips, Mike King, Christopher McBride, Lawrence Fields and more, and is the bassist for GRAMMY-winner Matthew Whitaker, Isaiah Thompson, and Langston Hughes II. Eytan is a recent graduate of The Juilliard School, with a Master’s degree in Jazz Bass Performance, where he studied under the mentorship of jazz virtuosos Gerald Cannon, Ron Carter, Ben Wolfe, Donald Vega and Billy Drummond. He also holds dual degrees in Jazz Bass Performance and Sociology from Oberlin College and Conservatory, where he studied and collaborated with jazz legends such as Billy Hart, Gary Bartz, and Eddie Henderson.
Gabriel Schillinger-Hyman: A Steinway & Sons Teacher and Educational Partner and 2X performer & arranger at Carnegie Hall, Gabriel can be found touring and/or performing in NYC with internationally renowned jazz artists including CHRISTOPHER MCBRIDE (GRAMMY-winner), LUCAS PINO (Artistic Director at Brubeck Jazz Summit), TIM GREEN (sax for Michael Bublé and GRAMMY nominee), TYREEK MCDOLE (Sarah Vaughan Competition 1st place), APRIL VARNER (Ella FItzgerald Competition 1st place), ERENA TERAKUBO (Kenny Barron Quartet, Jon Faddis All-Star Big Band...etc), and more. Gabriel performs at household jazz venues in NYC and around the U.S. and has appeared at some of the most sought-after piano destinations including CARNEGIE HALL, European piano dealership KLAVIERHAUS, and The Piedmont Piano Company. Gabriel has also established himself as a significant force in education: A STEINWAY & SONS teacher, guest lecturer, and jazz clinician, Gabriel is recognized for combining jazz performance with storytelling, touring multiple multimedia projects including "Invisible Jazz Giants," "Jazz on the Silver Screen," and "The Topography of Jazz: Revolutions in Sound Up, Down, and Around NYC" across the country. Gabriel holds a Master’s Degree in Jazz Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music and has received lessons from the best jazz artists in the world, including Sullivan Fortner, Jon Faddis, Phil Markowitz, Marc Cary, Elio Villafranca, Ted Rosenthal, and Jeremy Manasia. He received his BA in Hispanic Literature & Cultures from Brown University.
