JAZZ ON THE SILVER SCREEN is a multimedia program that explores jazz works that originated in film, revealing how the movies helped carry jazz into the collective imagination. We cover works from a wide spectrum of filmic mediums and genres, including silent films, “talkies”, animated, detective/noir, gothic horror/supernatural, romance, musicals, Hollywood, Indie/Arthouse, and Avant-Garde cinema. 

The New York City 5-week premiere of this series featured renowned guest artists LANGSTON HUGHES II (alto), CHRISTOPHER MCBRIDE  (alto), AC LINCOLN (dance/vocals), and STEPHANE CLEMENT (trumpet).
